Quasi-Static Tensile Stress Strain Curves--II, Rolled Homogeneous Armor

Abstract

The modulus of elasticity, shear modulus, Poisson's ratio, yield and ultimate tensile strength at 22 C are reported for 1/2, 1 1/2, and 4-inch thick rolled homogeneous armor (RHA) plate. Specimens were taken at 3 orthogonal orientations from each plate. The effect of temperature from 22 to 800 C on the elastic constants is also reported for a specimen of 4-inch RHA.
