Preliminary Infrared Radiation Emissions Predictions (PIREP). Volume 1. Description

Abstract

The background and development of a computer program, PIREP (preliminary Infrared Radiation Emissions Program) for rapidly generating engine IR emission characteristics is presented. The PIREP program evaluates peak plume and peak hot parts infrared emissions for turbojet, turbofan and turboshaft engines at low cost to the user. The report presents the analysis and discusses the applications of the program.
