System and Mass Storage Study for Defense Mapping Agency Topographic Center (DMATC/HC)

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to translate processing and data storage requirements of the Defense Mapping Agency Topographic Center for the FY77-FY83 time period to a system architecture capable of supporting the Center's mission. Requirements provided by the DMATC indicated that a processing capacity twice as large as FY76 workload would require an immediate augmentation. Projected data holdings indicated a requirement for storage of up to 4.7 x 10 to the 12th power bits by FY83.
