A Forecasting Technique for Operational Reliability (MTBF) and Maintenance (MMH/FH)

Abstract

Traditionally, there has been little or no correlation between contractual R and M parameters and operational values. The differences between these values vary from one weapon system to another. The differences are mostly explainable, after the fact. However, little, if any, effort has been expended in an attempt to develop a method of forecasting operational R and M parameters. This report provides a method that can presently be used to forecast operational MTBF and MMH/FH parameters.
