Military Implications of a Possible World Order Crisis in the 1980s
Abstract
This study attempts to discern trends that may make the international environment of the 1980s different from that of the recent past and to draw conclusions concerning the military implications of those trends. The author suggests that mankind may be entering a period of increased social instability and faces the possibility of a breakdown of the global order as a result of the sharpening confrontation between the Third World and the industrial democracies and as a result of a system overload caused by population growth.
