Thermal Properties of Graphite Fiber

Abstract

A thorough study was conducted on the effect of thermal aging on graphite fibers. Thermal-oxidative properties were evaluated on available fibers at several temperature ranges. Activation energies were analytically determined from rates of isothermal weight loss. Sodium content was shown to lower activation energy and increase rate of oxidation.
