Improved Boron-on-Carbon Composites.

Abstract

Initial attempts to directly substitute boron-on-carbon for tungsten-cored boron in the 5505 resin system revealed a difficulty in consistently achieving high transverse strain-to-failure values. The goal of this program was to investigate methods of improving the transverse properties of B(C)-epoxy composites.
