Thermal Insulation for Pipe Systems: Inspection and Maintenance Guidance.

Abstract

This document is primarily concerned with asbestos-insulating materials that can be crumbled, pulverized, or reduced to powder in the hand, thus readily releasing fibers with minimal disturbance. The document provides general information on thermal pipe insulation, types of insulation, lagging and coating materials, maintenance inspection methods, and maintenance procedures. The maintenance procedure guidance provides techniques that comply with OSHA and EPA regulations. (Author)
