Integrated Computer-Aided Manufacturing (ICAM) Architecture Part 2. Volume 6. Dynamics Modeling Manual (IDEF2)

Abstract

The fundamental concepts of IDEF2 are based on computer modeling and simulation techniques. IDEF2 provides a vehicle for describing the elements of manufacturing systems whose behavior varies over time. When complete, IDEF2 will contain an analysis capability to portray the time varying status of the elements and the integrated performance associated with the manufacturing system. The methodology is based on network modeling concepts; facility models; and graphical modeling, analysis and display procedures. The understanding of the dynamic aspects of a system has led to increased productivity of manufacturing systems.
