Visible and Near-Infrared Laser Source.

Abstract

A tunable solid state laser device operating at kHz repetition rates producing coherent radiation in the 0.55 to 0.85 micron wavelength regime has been demonstrated. This laser device, consisting of a Nd:YAG pump and a lithium iodate crystal placed inside the pump cavity, is capable of producing output powers of up to 1 W in 5 discrete lines throughout the spectral region of concern by utilizing non-linear processes (SRS, SHG, SFG).
