Recent Military Operations on Urban Terrain

Abstract

This report compares two recent battles in urban terrain--Jerusalem, June 1967, and Suez city, October 1973. The significance of the battle, characteristics of the city, combatants, situations, concept of operations, tactical plans, conduct of operations, innovations, and outcomes are described for each case, and findings about weapons, tactics and C(3) noted. Maps and photographs are also included.
