An Assessment of an Ensemble-Averaged Navier-Stokes Calculation Procedure for Cascade Flow Fields.
Abstract
A compressible, time-dependent solution of the Navier-Stokes equations is obtained for both compressor and turbine cascade configurations in subsonic and transonic flows. The analysis uses the Briley-McDonald consistently split linearized block implicit (LBI) procedure to solve the governing equations. Comparisons with measured data are presented which demonstrate the code's ability to predict both subsonic and transonic cascade flow fields.
