Dental Highspeed Handpieces. A Test Method.

Abstract

This study included the development of a test method for the evaluation of the performance characteristics of dental highspeed handpieces. The areas that were evaluated were power, noise, vibration, chuck concentricity, chuck retention, air consumption, coolant capability, durability, and safety. In the absence of national and international design standards, specifications, and performance characteristics, this study provided a means of comparison of dental highspeed handpieces. (Author)
