ICAM (Integrated Computer Aided Manufacturing) Conceptual Design for Computer-Integrated Manufacturing. Volume 2, Part 1. Task B. Establishment of the Factory of the Future Conceptual Framework Scoping Document (SD).

Abstract

This document, Volume II, Part I, of the Final Technical Report contains the Factory of the Future Conceptual Framework Scoping Document. This document establishes the foundation and parameters for the Factory of the Future Task. This document establishes the far reaching scope of Task B, ICAM Project Priority 1105, Conceptual Design For Computer Integrated Manufacturing. Task B Establish Factory of the Future (FOF) Framework has two major goals, which are to establish: (1) A strategy to achieve a computer integrated manufacturing framework that integrates/interfaces/interacts all major activities/systems (e.g., design, finance, marketing, quality assurance/quality control, engineering, inventory management and control, product support and configuration management) in the 1995 timeframe. (2) An overall conceptual framework of the FOF for the 1995 timeframe, to include multi-purpose production centers (i.e., assembly, machining, electronics, composites and sheet metal).
