ICAM (Integrated Computer Aided Manufacturing) Conceptual Design for Computer-Integrated Manufacturing. Volume 3, Part 5. Tasks C and E. Integrated Composite Center Requirements and Preliminary Design System Requirements Document (SRD).

Abstract

This document defined the concepts, objectives, estimated costs and benefits, function, performance and other requirements for improvements to the 'AS IS' system identified as the Integrated Composites Center. It outlines three major sections which are to be incorporated into the System Requirements Document (SRD). The first section addresses general information which includes the approved identification, nomenclature, and authorized abbreviations for the system. The second section provides a compilation of applicable documents which include previously developed technical documentation covering related projects and standards or specifications required to understand and enhance the SRD. The third section, which is the crux of the SRD, provides a narrative and appropriate delineation of specific system requirements required to accomplish the transition from the 'AS IS' to the 'TO BE' environment. This System Requirements Document (SRD) is the first functional document of the TO BE Integrated Composites Center (ICC). It is the initial statement of validated 'needs' for the TO BE Center expressed in terms of requirements. These requirements are 'needs' with associated parameters. This document identifies the major requirement categories of the TO BE ICC which are traceable back through all of the previously produced documents for the ICC.
