A Comparison of Automatic Dental Film Processors.

Abstract

This study evaluated the performance characteristics of dental automatic film processors. The units were tested for practicality for use in Air Force Dental Facilities. The following items were evaluated for each processor: (1) Accuracy of processing cycle time; (2) Accuracy of temperature for the developer and fixer chemistry; (3) Accuracy of automatic chemistry replenisher controls; (4) Construction of transport mechanisms and roller assemblies; (5) Electrical components; and (6) Ease of maintenance. This study provided a means for selecting dental automatic radiographic film processors that will produce quality radiographs with the least interruption of service. (Author)
