Program Manager's Guide to Ada (Trademark).

Abstract

This guide provides current information to help a Program Manager in making decisions relatve to the use of Ada. It discusses perinent Air Force and DoD policy, the effects of Ada on contractual documentation, and steps that must be taken to apply Ada. This guide identifies benefits and inherent risks of using Ada, and Program Office initiatives needed to control risk. It cites factors that will affect programmer training, software cost/schedule estimation, design, and configuration management. As background information, the basic features of Ada and the software needed to support programming in Ada are described. This document reflects changes in Ada technology and policy since the initial publication of the guide.
