EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) Analysis Procedures for Automatic Detection and Tracking Radar Systems.

Abstract

An analytical modeling approach is presented for Automatic Detection and Tracking Radar (ADT radar) systems employing track-management subsystems or processors. The model predicts system degradation due to Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) induced measurement errors and false alarms. Performance measures are derived. The modeling approach is applicable to scenarios consisting of multiple interference sources and maneuvering targets. The tracking processor is described in detail sufficient for adaptation to single or multiple target tracking scenarios. The analytical model enables rapid estimation of system performance when compared to Monte Carlo techniques. A description of the track management logic is presented with system and functional block diagrams.
