Identification and Selective Acquisition of Chemicals and Drugs for Antiviral Chemotherapy

Abstract

This report describes the initial year's efforts toward the identification, selection and acquisition of chemicals and drugs relating to antiviral chemotherapy. The thrust of the drug development program is on the development of drugs for the prophylaxis or treatment of U.S. military personnel at risk of exposure to natural viral infections and/or altered microorganisms. Early activities included the investigation and selection of software, hardware and source databases to manage the collection, manipulation and storage of data. Sources of chemical compounds of interest to the DAS project were located and agreements processed for signature.
