Synthesis Laboratory for the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases Selection Panel

Abstract

A synthesis laboratory has been established for the preparation of compounds to be evaluated against viruses of interest to U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases. The synthesis of known compounds as well as new compounds has been undertaken, and all compounds are being made in sufficient quantity to allow for full evaluation. Among the compounds prepared thus far are 1-benzyloxyadenosines, 9-substituted 1-benzyl-oxyadenines, 1,2,4,5, 3,6-tetraazadiphosphorines, substituted imidazoles, selenadiazoles, traizoles, triazolotriazoles, guanidines, pyrazoles, adamantane derivatives, chloroquines, N1-aminonucleosides, allupurinol acyclonucleosides, nucleotides of ribavirin and tiazofurin, and various other heterocyclic compounds.
