Chemical Weapons Process Parameters. Volume 3. Users' Guide

Abstract

The Chemical Weapons Process Parameters Relational Data System permits the chemical production routes for all chemicals identified by CAS numbers to be ranked according to their desirability for production by producers with varying capabilities. Both chemical warfare agents and their precursors, as listed in the Chemical Weapons Convention (as of January 1991), are included. This assessment considers the environmental, economic, mechanical and chemical engineering parameters for each production alternative in a data base template. This template combines the multiple linkages between parameters for each step in the production process and in sequential steps. This Data System has been automated for use on IBM-compatible PCs. The Data System allows for review and printing of template information, key word searches on multiple fields, and scoring of the viability of a particular production process based on key characteristics. This software users' manual provides the user of the automated Data System a guide for program installation and operation.
