Theory and Design of Resonant Transformer-Coupled Loop-Antenna Input Systems for VLF Reception,

Abstract

Investigations of effective small collectors for very low. frequency radio energy indicate that direct coupled loop circuits provide maximum possible signal to noise ratio for given Q value. It is recommended that these antennas be used where no appreciable length of cable is needed between loop and tuning condenser, and where tuning coverage is limited to one band.
