Design of Instrument Dials for Maximum Legibility: 2. A Preliminary Experiment on Dial Size and Graduation

Abstract

This is a report of a short, exploratory experiment on the effect of dial size and dial graduation on the speed and accuracy of obtaining quantitative information from dial type instruments. The purpose of the experiment was to determine approximately the range within which the results of further and more complete studies might fall. In this regard, it supplements and extends the data presented in the first report of this series.
