Joint Vision Implementation Master Plan

Abstract

This instruction conveys the Joint Vision Implementation Master Plan (JIMP) and provides policy and guidance for implementation of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff's (CJCS's) long-range vision document, Joint Vision 2020 (reference e), and subsequent CJCS Joint Vision documents. The purpose of the JIMP is to define a process that will translate emerging joint operational concepts into joint warfighting capabilities as a result of joint experimentation and assessment recommendations. The JIMP describes the generation, coordination, approval, and implementation process for joint Doctrine, Organizations, Training, Materiel, Leadership and Education, Personnel, and Facilities (DOTMLPF) recommendations and defines roles and responsibilities within that process. Joint Vision in this CJCSI refers to the Chairman's Joint Vision 2020 (JV 2020) document.
