The Propagation of Underwater Sound at Low Frequencies, as a Function of the Acoustic Properties of the Bottom

Abstract

This report presents an experimental and theoretical analysis of the transmission of underwater sound in shallow water, taking into account the influence of the bottom. The analysis is particularly concerned with frequencies at which the wavelengths are comparable to the physical dimensions of the acoustic systems.
