On a Method of Constructing Two-Dimensional Subsonic Compressible Flows Around Closed Profiles

Abstract

Compressible flows can be essentially obtained by derivation of an incompressible flow around another profile by the integration of a linear partial differential equation in the physical plane of the incompressible flow. The method is long and approximate, but further research should extend its applicability and reduce its computational time. Final formulas represent an extension of the results of Von Karman and Tsien to which they reduce in the special case of a flow without circulation.
