DoD Common High Order Language. Phase 1. Reports and Analyses

Abstract

This document is an archival publication of four preliminary prototype designs of candidates for the DoD Common High Order Computer Programming Language for Embedded Computer Systems. The specification for the designs in the form of DoD requirements for High Order Computer Programming Languages, IRONMAN Revised, and the follow-on STEELMAN are included. Analyses of the preliminary designs by 80 teams are included. On the basis of these analyses, two contractors were continued to produce final complete designs, CII Honeywell-Bull and Intermetrics.
