Minimum Lethal Concentrations, Symptomatology, and Pathology of Phosgene

Abstract

The minimum lethal concentration of phosgene for dogs by inhalation in a gas-air mixture is reported. Exposure to phosgene causes irritation of the exposed mucous surfaces leading to lachrymation, salivation, and increased nasal secretion. Following exposure more profound effects such as profuse nasal secretion, conjunctivitis, and respiratory difficulties are noted.
