Japanese Balloons - Detection - Destruction

Abstract

Study of all possible methods and equipment for combating Japanese free-balloon landings on Western coastline of United States. Discussion of trajectories of balloons released in Japan, radar detection and technique, visual detection, and identification from the ground and from the air. Infrared detection unsuitable. Methods and action of balloon destruction by antiaircraft weapons and aircraft attack.
