Antenna Control for Communications Systems.
Abstract
The patent application relates to maximization of received signal amplitude in duplex communications systems, achieved by continually automatically aligning the transmit and receive antennas. Auxiliary feed horns equidistantly positioned above and below and to the right and left of the receive antenna's primary feed horn receive equal amounts of power when antennas are in alignment. Auxiliary feed horn outputs are fed to comparators that produce signals responsive to any antenna misalignment. The comparator output signals operate means that adjust the electrical alignment of the transmit and receive antennas to compensate for such misalignment.
