Underwater Sound Transducer.

Abstract

The patent application describes an underwater sound transducer made of a tube of permanently polarizable polymer having electrode coatings on the inner and outer walls with a polarized area of polymer corresponding to the area covered by the outer electrode. A lead is connected by means of a conductive adhesive to each electrode and a glob of flexible adhesive covers the tube end and the incoming leads to prevent breakage of the leads with handling. The tube ends are closed with watertight plugs.
