Force Sensing and Indicating System.

Abstract

A means for sensing the force on the actuating elements of a hydroelectric actuation system and providing a force feedback signal proportional to the force sensed is described in the patent application. Force sensing is accomplished through a measurement of servo error produced by either allowing a small percentage of the hydraulic fluid used to position an actuator to be returned to the supply line or, when the supply and return lines are closed, to allow small movements of the actuator within the closed loop.
