Liquid Crystal Light Valve.

Abstract

The patent application describes a liquid crystal large screen display. The display is created by spatially modulating the specular transmittance of a thin layer of nematic liquid crystals with a scanning electron beam. The display is then projected onto a large screen by means of appropriate optics and a xenon arc lamp.
