Partial Decomposition of Ablative Combustor Liners for Service Aeroheating Environments.

Abstract

The patent application concerns a silicone rubber insulator which is heated to a predetermined temperature for a predetermined length of time. This prevents certain gases from forming later when the insulator is actually in use and causing the insulator to separate from the metallic material that it is intended to insulate.
