The Solubilization of Chromate Salts in Organic Media.

Abstract

This patent application relates to a process for solubilizing the chromate ion in non-polar organic media. The hexavalent chromium ion, being the best known corrosion inhibitor for aluminum and steel, is dissolved in appropriate low polarity, organic solvents such as paint coatings and removers and lubricants.
