Connector Assembly.
Abstract
The patent application describes a connector assembly in which the pins of the hard-mounted receptacle are subject to neither miscoupling nor shear and bending forces due to misalignment. Unsymmetrical mountings and keying mechanisms provide the correct polarized alignment of corresponding receptacle pins and plug contacts. A funnel guide coupled with a spring and an elastic casing means allows the hard-mounted receptacle containing the contact pins to automatically urge the face of the plug into an aligned and parallel relationship with the face of the receptacle before the pins enter the mating contacts.
