Improved Dynamic Incline Plane Endless Belt Laminar Oil Collector.

Abstract

The patent application concerns a dynamic incline plane endless belt laminar oil collector for recovering oil from a water surface. A double incline plane endless belt induces water to flow into a collection chamber in its laminar state. The endless belt, a hydrodynamically smooth passageway, and an auxiliary belt, guide the oil-water mixture into the collection chamber with minimum turbulence to preserve the laminar state. An adjustable slot at the intake of the collection chamber keeps the water content of the recovered mixture to a minimum allowing the oil collector to operate more efficiently and at higher speeds.
