A Point-Source Slide Projection System Having a Large Zoom Ratio.

Abstract

The patent application discloses a variable magnification ('zoom') slide projection system that provides useful optical zoom ratios of the order of 100:1 and greater. The optical system uses a coherent point-source, a moving slide (i.e., a data input transparency), Fourier transforming and inverse Fourier transforming optical elements, phase-error correcting optical elements, and output image plane/viewing screen.
