Iterative Area Correlator Apparatus.

Abstract

The patent application describes a video tracker apparatus using the auto-registration of a sequence of images produced by an electro-optical sensor to compare the position coordinates of an object or objects contained within a reference image. The position changes required to register the sequential frame-to-frame images permit tracking of the object or object set. The computation algorithm is extremely fast and permits calculations to be performed at a speed compatible with the frame rate of the electro-optical sensor.
