Ejector Ramjet with Turbojet Fuel Rich Gas Generator.

Abstract

A presentation is made of an ejector ramjet having a turbojet engine located in the air inlet to provide a fuel rich gas to the ramjet engine. The turbojet exhaust entrains secondary air in the ejector tube for the ramjet and increases the air's stagnation pressure. The mixture is burned in the ramjet combustor in a conventional manner. Fuel is supplied to the inlet of the turbojet compressor to provide precompressor cooling. The fuel flow to the compressor inlet in controlled to provide a stoichiometric mixture for the combustor. Additional fuel is supplied at the inlet of the turbine to provide cooling for the flow through the turbine and to provide a fuel rich mixture in the turbojet exhaust.
