Ball Bearing Electrically-Conductive Pulleys.

Abstract

Two aluminum pulleys are mounted on berylium copper bearings and electrically bonded through a rotating joint to a pulley bracket. The pulleys are spring loaded against each other to provide proper pressure and peripheral ground to a control cable passing therebetween. High voltage short time duration currents or low voltage static currents in the control cables located outside the pressure hull are directed from the cables through the pulleys and bearings to the aircraft hull for grounding thereby preventing passage of the dangerous electrical pulses along the control cables to the inside of the aircraft.
