Castable Gas Generator Propellant.
Abstract
A gas generant of the type used in gas generator auxiliary power sources containing an oxygenated binder and ammonium nitrate oxidizer allows higher binder levels and thereby castability. The binder can be a polyester cured with a trifunctional epoxy or a carboxy-epoxy polymer. The ammonium nitrate is coated with magnesium oxide or a silane if a hydrophilic polyester binder is used.
