Trinary Pulse-Number Modulation Method.

Abstract

A method for encoding a digital word for asynchronous optical data transmission by generating three distinct pulse trains. A predetermined length pulse train represents a word recognition bit, another different length pulse train represents a logic one and a third different length pulse train represents a logic zero.
