Vapor Clearing of Filter Medium.

Abstract

A technique is described for preparing a laboratory slide to determine microscopic particulate characterization by allowing solvents to condense in a controlled manner upon a solvent-soluble filter medium which produces a clearing action rendering the area of interest transparent to light with the trapped particles becoming more visible. A greater contrast between the cleared medium and the particles of interest is achieved because the viewing area is illuminated by transmitted light rather than reflected light.
