Holographic Lens Binocular System.

Abstract

A unique binocular system is disclosed as incorporating a pair of objective holographic lenses respectively positioned to receive light from an object at two spaced aspect view areas and for respectively diffracting said received light in a pair of off-optical-axis manners through a predetermined pair of focus areas to a pair of closely spaced corrector areas; a pair of corrector holographic lenses respectively located in said corrector areas for receiving said diffracted off-optical-axis light and for deleting any aberrations introduced therein by the off-optical-axis relationships of said objective holographic lenses therewith; a pair of eyepiece holographic lenses spatially disposed from but on the optical axes of the aforesaid pair of corrector holographic lenses for respectively receiving the on-optical-axis aberration-free light therefrom, thereby permitting the viewing of a magnified image of the object upon which the aforesaid objective holographic lenses are sighted by the two eyes of a human observer simultaneously.
