Potential Troughs for Charge Transfer Devices.

Abstract

In a surface channel charge transfer device noise due to the presence of surface states is minimized by ion implanting the charge coupled device propagation channel so as to provide a narrow potential trough which confines the charge to the center of the CCD channel. (Author)
