Metal Bleed Flow-Heat Exchanger.

Abstract

As used in a modified Stirling cryogenic refrigerator, a plug made of metal that is porous to gas functions as a gas bleed flow control, eliminating the needle-valves (and their inherent disadvantages) used in the prior systems, and also functions as a heat exchanger. (Author)
