Method and Apparatus for Rapid Evaluation of Lens Performance.

Abstract

A suitable target pattern is imaged by a lens under test. The image is sensed by a line scan camera which produces a commensurate electrical signal. This signal is analyzed by a processor to determine a measure of the modulation transfer of the test lens, and thereby assign a figure of merit. (Author)
