Retractable Nose Landing Gear.

Abstract

A retractable nose landing gear for a high performance aircraft including a structure which is pivoted into the fuselage of the aircraft and which positions the wheel mechanically relative to the landing gear structures to provide stowage of the wheel in a horizontal position directly behind the retracted landing gear structure thereby providing a minimum of storage space in the aircraft while maximizing space for an engine air duct above the landing gear wheel well and helping to reduce aircraft frontal area.
