Method and Apparatus for Temperature Data Acquisition.

Abstract

According to this invention a method and apparatus are provided for obtaining data to determine transient thermal properties of transparent materials. Use is made of a Schlieren Moire technique to obtain fringe patterns. The samples are irradiated with a carbon dioxide laser beam with a shutter mechanism provided to permit accurate control of the irradiation time. (Author)
